It Starts with Coffee ~ Fab Flavors and More at Groundz Coffee Café Monticello KY

So here it is, the first day of August and this is about the time of year my brain starts planning and yearning for Fall and all the wonderful treats and flavors (think pumpkin spice) that ensue. I love coffee. I never start my day without it. One of my favorite coffee flavors is Pumpkin Spice.. well it was.. until today. You see, I am lucky enough to have a coffee shop right down the sidewalk. YES! Right down from the office and in sight everyday. Today I ventured in to see what kind of goodies I could find and written on the board was Blackberry Mocha. Now this flavor can be served iced or hot but I am a steam drinker myself... so I chose the hot version. I really did not expect to like this drink but it was AMAZING! My new favorite specialty coffee drink.

If you have yet to visit Groundz Coffee Café you are missing out!

For years I had hoped that our little town would get a coffee shop and I was overjoyed when I heard the news that one was finally opening up here. I patiently watched their Facebook page for months awaiting the day they would open.

The inside is very inviting and is a perfect place to enjoy lunch or lounge and read a book. Often times the radio is playing positive, encouraging contemporary Christian music. You'll find a pin board by the register where several patrons will pay it forward and buy a coffee for a fellow teacher, nurse, firefighter etc..

In addition to their lunch menu they have a variety of pies and pastries and lets not forget about all the delicious coffee concoctions. I have personally tried pumpkin spice, mocha caramel Jo, peppermint mocha, and now Blueberry Mocha! If coffee is not your jam they also offer tea.

There are a couple of great events that should be mentioned when thinking of Groundz Café.. The last Friday of every month they host a Paint & Sip and the last Saturday of every month is Open Mic Night where you can witness some amazing talent. You can find info on those events on their Facebook page HERE

If you are visiting the Lake Cumberland area or are local and have yet to stop in I highly suggest you treat yourself to a pastry and coffee :)

Groundz is owned by Pam and Walt Wally who reside in Somerset KY.
